Nothing kills more Americans than heart disease and stroke. More than 877,500 Americans die of heart disease or stroke every year—that’s one-third of all deaths. Each year in the United States, more than 1.7 million people are diagnosed with cancer, and almost 600,000 die from it, making it the second leading cause of death. The cost of cancer care continues to rise and is expected to reach more than $240 billion by 2030.
- For over 4 decades I have been developing and practicing an integrated approach to healthcare that evaluates the whole person, not just the disease process.
- My healthcare stategy evaluates key areas of a patients personal health history that helps identify the person's life span verses their health span.
- Healthspan refers to the number of years you will live a life- free from chronic disease and disability. Life span is the number of years you are expected to live from birth.
- Some of the variables I evaluate at my Wellness Center include physical health nutrition deficiencies, gut microbiome, genetics, diet, sleep, exercise, mental health, spirituality, environmental exposures, toxic burden load, detoxification systems and the all critical social relationships in community engagement. Negative stress in any of these areas will contribute to setting the stage for chronic diseases.
